the farther west you are, the more you will see. the biggest problem we are going to see the effects of the cold air that will move it overnight and the high winds. a lot of icing conditions. even areas that are getting rain now. areas that have models will freeze solid. here is the big picture. the main storm center hasn't developed yet. this has been a surge in moisture. forms this new area that will cause the blizzard conditions we describe. we'll be on the fringes of snowfall as far as the important snowfall totals. 33 and 29 are the averages. as far as numbers go, below freezing. that is important. we'll be better in southern maryland.

it has been snowing for a good portion of the afternoon. winter weather advisory's continue north and west of the city. pink areas are winter storm warnings. we are looking generally across the metro area. 1-3 inches. they may look at the blizzard warnings. east,ape cod around the blizzard warnings. that.und the fringes of that will shut off three that will be the pressure differences between the east coast blizzard and high-pressure to the west that will drive in high winds from the north. you can see it tomorrow for the day in response to these tightly packed pressure lines.
